The Digital Host is a transnational adult educational project (Italy, Austria, Germany) that aims to provide digital skills to operators in the non-hotel accommodation sector, such as holiday apartments, guesthouses and B&Bs. In view of changing market conditions, growing online booking habits and new traveller needs, the project is developing a digital training path with practice-oriented modules that are available on the online learning platform as part of a blended learning concept. The focus is on basic digital skills that are necessary for the sustainable management of small, often informal accommodation providers.

Target groups

  • ·         Operators of holiday apartments, B&Bs, guesthouses, guesthouses
  • ·         Career changers from other industries
  • ·         NEETs and young adults interested in digital self-employment

Learning outcomes

The participants

  • ·         recognise the importance of digital skills for sustainable business management
  • ·         learn about practical tools for marketing, communication and customer loyalty
  • ·         use digital tools confidently and purposefully in their own businesses
  • ·         reflect on their level of digitalisation and develop their own digital strategy
  • ·         improve the visibility and professionalism of their accommodation in the online environment
